Q1 2021 Virtual Pet App Performance in Europe: Android Insights

The virtual pet category on Android has seen various performances throughout the first quarter of 2021 in Europe. Sensor Tower's data provides us with an insight into the top five applications in this genre.

My Talking Tom Friends started the quarter with a high of 525K downloads in the last week of December but saw a downward trend, finishing at 346K downloads by the end of March. Weekly active users followed a similar pattern, starting at 3.9M and decreasing to 3.7M. Revenue peaked at $5.4K in the first week of January but also saw an overall decline to $4.8K by the end of March.

My Talking Tom 2 showed a similar trajectory, with downloads decreasing from 458K to 355K and weekly active users dropping from 4.1M to 4.0M over the quarter. Revenue had a mid-quarter spike, reaching $10.5K in late February, before settling down to $8.5K at the quarter's close.

My Talking Angela maintained a more stable download rate, starting at 353K and ending at 287K. Weekly active users saw a slight increase from 3.2M to 3.3M. The revenue for this app fluctuated, with a notable peak of $6.4K in mid-February, ending the quarter at $4.2K.

The classic My Talking Tom observed a gradual decrease in downloads from 350K to 259K. The weekly active users showed resilience, slightly increasing from 1.99M to 1.92M. Revenue figures started at $2.9K and showed a mix of ups and downs, ending at a similar $2.9K.

Bubbu – My Virtual Pet Cat from Bubadu also experienced a decline in downloads from 297K to 159K. The weekly active users decreased from 1.9M to 1.6M throughout the quarter. Revenue started at $1.6K, had a peak at $2.1K in mid-January, and ended at $1.2K by March's end.
